You can 100% create your own content, we all do it You can 100% create your own content, we all do it every day. So why hire a photographer? Like anything in life it can all be DIY’ed and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that. In fact it’s a great place to start because you know what you need next ( that’s me 😄). If you’re a bit exhausted with your current content. Don’t know where to start first. Don’t know what images you need to talk about your business. Don’t feel good at taking pictures. Don’t have the time to do a home shoot. Want to have a high finish to your online content. Want a lifestyle vault of content that is consistent showcasing what you do and how you do it - with you in it. Don’t feel confident in front of the camera. Need help with ideas. Don’t want to DIY your own shoot any more. Want an input of fresh ideas. If any of these feel familiar, I get it, because I’ve been there myself. There comes a time when you need to get a shoot done and it feels really good being able to work on your business knowing that your content is being sorted for you whilst you keep on doing what you do best - running your business. The biggest thing that stops people getting a shoot is them not feeling comfortable in front of the camera. Believe it or not I feel that too. But I’ve learnt to work through it and now know how to create a space that feels comfortable for you to be in and show up in front of the camera for your business. ❤️
I’ve been asked a lot recently - Why have I stop I’ve been asked a lot recently - Why have I stopped shooting weddings? I’ll be honest there is a lot of things about weddings that I love. Nearly all of it. I’ve spent 12 years shooting them and I was good at it too. Shooting weddings isn’t just about the pictures to take it’s about your whole flow on the day. But, what weddings couldn’t offer me was flexibility. For over 12 years I’m happy that I’ve never had to reschedule a wedding, call in sick, had dodgy equipment etc. But, I have gone to them on days where I wanted to and needed to be at home. Flexibility is now something I want. With a young family in tow I need to be able ti change something if needed. And I need to push some new boundaries and get my brain working in a different way. So you’ll find me over here now committed to branding shoots and newborn/family shoots and education. I’ve learnt a lot over the last decade. My first Great North Run happened last week and I My first Great North Run happened last week and I don’t think it will be my last. I ran on behalf of the ataxia charity, a condition my mum lives with. We’re aiming to raise 1k to get a researcher in the field to help find a cure. The run was brilliant. The crowd were ace, handing out oranges, sweets, ice lollies, water, encouragement, bands playing ,music blasting and beer - of course I took some as I ran 🤪. The sun was out and was boiling as we ran. Which the. turned into biblical thunderstorms after and left the metro flooded and us being stranded in South Shields. We did make it home, it was freezing - I’ve never been happier to be wrapped in tinfoil 😂#Thank you to everyone who has donated and for everyone else who feels that they might be able to. @ataxia_uk is not a well known disease but we are sure determined to beat it!! 👊 There is a link in my bio for anyone who would love to give. #ataxia #ataxiacerebelar #ataxia awareness #greatnorthrun

One thing I never ask kids to do when they are on One thing I never ask kids to do when they are on shoot with me, or when I’m taking my own kids pictures is to stop and smile. The best thing you can do is keep talking to them, keep it quick, don’t make it a chore. Don’t chase perfection. Talk and snap. Talk and snap. Tell a joke. Get your camera ready first so when they do look at you you’re ready and they don’t have to pose again and again. Keep it fun. Kids love fun. And don’t forget they don’t always need to be looking at the camera.
